Tome of Blood is a collection of fourteen short stories and three poems by Hamish Paul Wilson created in the spring of 2008 and uploaded onto the Internet on April 25, 2008. The first story written How Much Time has Passed was written and uploaded weeks before the rest were uploaded. It is the largest collection of Blood fan fiction ever written, though many of them are short. More stories were added later, from Caleb Meets the Headless Thompson Gunner onward, and ultimately the multi-part Scroll throughout 2014.

Included in the collection are also two crossovers, one merging the worlds of Blood II and Shogo: MAD, and another showing Caleb meeting a character from a Warren Zevon song.

Illustrations[edit]

The illustrations for Tome of Blood were originally drawn on paper by Hamish Wilson on April 26, 2008. They were then scanned onto a computer where they were digitally edited by Malcolm Wilson to create the current images. The Man in the Dark Hat depicts Caleb standing in front of the urban skyline of New Town, while Lost in the Wastes has Caleb looking for the other Chosen after he got lost from them in How Much Time has Passed. Both image's show Caleb's face being shrouded by the shadow cast by his hat, and with his hands in his trench coat pockets.

Scroll - Blood Fiction in Weekly Parts[edit]

Scroll is a story originally began in the summer of 2008 as a kind of retelling of the story behind Cryptic Passage in an attempt to bring it further in line with the main Blood canon. Designed to be published in multiple parts, a new instalment was released every Sunday until the story was finally completed on December 28, 2014.

Although originally rearranging some of the series of events, the story gets more loyal to the expansion's level order later on (and even has parts partially transcribed from walkthroughs). There is at least one part named after its corresponding level in Cryptic Passage, as well as several named after other Blood levels, some from the Plasma Pak, and even one each from Blood II: The Chosen and The Nightmare Levels. Others are named after various quotations, concepts, and ideas from the Blood universe, with most of the remaining parts being named after various song lyrics or titles - particularly from the late singer-songwriter Warren Zevon. Part twelve features quotations from the "The Phantom of the Opera", from the musical of the same name.
