Inside an MCA

This article is for documenting the mecha game play of Shogo: Mobile Armour Division.

MCA Types[edit]

Armacham Ordog Advanced Series 7
Shogo Akuma Series 12
UCA Mark VII Enforcer
Andra 35 Predator

The game allows you to pilot four Mobile Combat Armours (or MCAs). Each mech can transform into a hover-transport mode for high-speed transit (weapons cannot be fired in transport mode). The primary difference between the four is their melee weapon, speed, and number of hit points. In terms of movement performance and weapons loadout, however, there is little perceptible difference between the various mecha. The games' manual states that one of the items can upgrade the look and performance of your mech (armour and HP wise). The opening cinematic of the game shows a white mech - hinting the Mark VII Enforcer with upgrades.

There are numerous enemy mecha, but most have lengthy recoil animations from damage that exceed the average reload time of the player's weapons, as a result it is easy to constantly damage the enemy and have them perform the animation until dead and take little or no damage even from many enemies engaged at once.

Armacham Ordog Advanced Series 7[edit]

"The Ordog is a highly refined piece of engineering. With its sleek design and solid compromise between speed and toughness, it makes a formidable adversary to just about any opponent. While its vehicle mode has a faster maximum speed than the UCA Enforcer, it doesn't handle quite as well."Shogo website

"The Armacham Ordog Advanced Series 7 MCA features a sleek design and solid compromise between speed and toughness. While its vehicle mode has a faster maximum speed than the UCA Enforcer, it doesn't handle quite as well." — Regional diagnostics briefing

The Ordog carries a combat knife and possesses 1,000 HP and up to 2,000 armour and is the second fastest MCA behind the Akuma but has the worst vehicle-mode handling compared to the other MCAs.

Shogo Akuma Series 12[edit]

"The Akuma is a light, fast, highly manoeuvrable MCA designed for situations in which subtlety and speed are more important than durability. An excellent choice for pilots who prefer to run from trouble than dive headlong into it."Shogo website

The Akuma carries a katana and possesses 800 HP and up to 1,600 armour and is easily the fastest MCA in the game.

UCA Mark VII Enforcer[edit]

"The Enforcer is a hardy, well-rounded MCA that balances responsive movement with strong armor. Ideal for pilots who want a machine that is reliable in any situation."Shogo website

"The UCA Enforcer Mark VII is a hardy, well-rounded MCA that balances responsive movement with strong armor. Ideal for pilots who want a machine that is reliable in any situation." — Regional diagnostics briefing

The Enforcer carries an energy blade and, like the Ordog, possesses 1,000 HP and up to 2,000 armour and is noticeably slower but makes up for this by not having the Ordog's manoeuvrability problems.

Andra 35 Predator[edit]

"Andra's ultimate MCA is perfectly suited to combat missions. Combining tough armor with an intimidating design, the Predator is an incomparable war machine. Unfortunately, strength comes at the cost of speed and versatility."Shogo website

The heavyweight Predator is by far the slowest and carries an energy baton and possesses 1,200 HP and up to 2,400 armour.
